Delta changes flight path after bloggers give feedback
Hot on the heals of the Motrinmoms apology, Delta reversed course on a decision that angered its platinum members.
While not exactly the same as this was a policy decision and not an ad, compare the email each commenter got from Delta:
We heard you loud and clear.
Since we launched our Coach Choice Seats program that impacted Medallion® access to Preferred Seats, we’ve received substantial feedback from Medallion members like you, and your dissatisfaction was crystal clear.
Retaining your long-term loyalty is of paramount importance to us, and we’re not afraid to change course when we need to. Therefore, effective November 18th, we will revert back to the original Preferred Seat program offering Medallions unrestricted access to Preferred Seats.
Simply put: Medallion members will be able to book any of the seats you used to enjoy at the time of booking and without a charge.
Thanks for your input and for enabling us to continue to earn your loyalty.
You’re the reason we fly,

We fly infrequently but do choose Delta when available.
We just received your letter stating I must buy my expired miles back for $300.00 per person. Over some time we have acquire4d 28,853 Sky miles per person. Our sky Miles Number are 2511321826 & 34. This might seem small to you but we did ask for Delta when we had the opportunity. Now we are told they are gone unless we buy them back.
SO LONG LOYALTY PROGRAM. Just another lie by those who got.

Similar story for me. Some months ago, Delta stole the miles I had collected over many years, and worth a few free flights. Their reasoning was specious and bureaucratic. Their interest in customer satisfaction seems to be nil. I have not flown them since. Their “loyalty” policy seems aggressively anti-customer. How they keep bums in the seats by behaving like this is bewildering.
Yes, I can “Buy them back” for the price of an air ticket or two. Sort of like the thief who steals my car offering to sell me my car back for its market value.
Bye bye Delta. Boycotting you because of this is the only consumer power you have left me.
